three-stages of production

Creating a video typically involves three stages of production:

pre-production - production - post-production

Each of these phases fit together and contribute to the overall quality of the final product.

pre-production

This stage is about planning the project and can be a very collaborative process.  This involves meeting with you, the client, to learn specifically what you envision. It helps us to ensure that we have all the elements in place to successfully carry-out the shoot (production), post-production and deliver the final product.   Proper planning reduces the overall cost as it minimizes the time required in production and post-production, both of which have higher costs; and maximizes client satisfaction with the end result.  This is the time slotted to meet with the client to create the vision of the final video(s), discuss the details of production, and plan the shoot.  How much is required depends on the size of the project.

production

This stage is about gathering the required footage and sound assets for your video.  This can involve shooting the footage, b-roll, recording audio and dialogue.  This stage requires equipment such as cameras, lights, lenses, microphones etc. and appropriate crew to operate all of the equipment.  Shooting footage and recording the audio right is integral to having a smooth post-production and faster turnaround on delivering your final product. Live event coverage requires additional planning and crew to ensure that we are able to account for the all of the variables and capture the footage properly, because there are no re-takes. However, when the production is not documenting a live event, we are able to do multiple shots and takes to ensure that we are able to capture all of the footage required.

post-production

This is the stage where we assemble and edit all the media (footage and audio) that we created during production.  It involves choosing the best takes and putting them together to create the best video presentation possible.   This is also the stage where we can add images, titles, information and effects to enhance the entire production-quality of your video.
