List of Roles and Character Descriptions:

Role: WHITE HAT
Gender: Male
Age Range: 40–80 (open to auditions from a wide age range)
Ethnicity: Open
Accent: Canadian (preferably Albertan or neutral North American)

Character Description:  White Hat is a spry, eccentric, and deeply sincere man who appears on a rural Alberta road like a prairie guardian angel. Dressed in a white Stetson and armed with an arsenal of metaphors, gift baskets, and unsolicited kindness, he inserts himself into the lives of a stranded couple with relentless hospitality.  Though his presence is initially unsettling, his intentions are pure—he’s a man on a self-appointed mission to help others, whether they want it or not.

Role: Guy
Gender: Male
Age Range: Open
Ethnicity: Open
Accent: Canadian

Character Description: Guy is earnest, emotionally overwhelmed, and trying to keep his relationship from falling apart. He’s the kind of man who means well but often misses the mark—his attempts to fix things are clumsy, sometimes misguided, but always sincere. He’s in love with Gal and terrified of losing her yet struggles to communicate effectively. His vulnerability is central to the film’s emotional arc, and his chemistry with Gal must reflect both tension and tenderness.

___________________________________

Role: Gal
Gender: Female
Age Range: Open
Ethnicity: Open
Accent: Canadian

Character Description: Gal is sharp, self-reliant, and emotionally guarded, a woman raised in a world of well-defined gender norms, now pushing against them. She’s practical and assertive, with a quick wit and a low tolerance for nonsense. Her sarcasm is both a defense mechanism and a tool for navigating emotionally charged situations. She’s skeptical of strangers like White Hat, whose relentless kindness feels intrusive.  In the midst her relationship crossroads, she is learning the key to navigating the situation is to be open to others.
