Provide A Meal (Via FUNDS)

Feeding the volunteer cast and crew is one of our biggest expenses.  We are often far from home while filming, meaning we often have to provide up to 3 meals a day because having a well fed crew is integral to having a smooth operating production!  Feeding all the lovely people who donate their time and efforts to this project is imperative to us.

By helping us cover the cost of a meal; YOU are playing a direct role in the quality output of our film.   Your assistance in this area also frees us to put more resources into other elements that directly show up on screen; equipment rentals, wardrobe, props etc...

Our crew size generally ranges from 7-15 people.

Provide An Actual Meal:

If you are local to the Calgary, AB area where we are located, and would rather provide an actual meal that you prep yourself; we would gladly accept these as well!

It must be something that we can take out into the field with us and has minimal prep.

Things like sandwiches (or all the fixings to make sandwiches), salads, veggies, fruits and snacks, soups, burgers, frozen lasagnas etc.

Many time we do have access to coolers, BBQs, camping stove tops, fire pits and in some cases an actual kitchen.   It all depends on when and where we are going that particular weekend.  These details we can work out with you when the time comes.

If you are interested in providing an actual meal for production at any point in the future; please email us at [email protected] and let us know!  We'll continue the conversation from there!

What you get:

$20+ /  Or an actual provided meal:  Special Thanks Credit in the film.   And a very gracious and heartfelt thanks from us! :)
$500+: An invitation to an advanced, pre-release, private screening of the film "Father of Nations" upon it's completion.

SUPPORT EQUIPMENT COSTS

Equipment Expenses

Equipment costs are another factor in this production.  While we do have a good amount of the equipment ready to go, the reality is that there are still things that we need to rent on a regular basis, and certain items that would help greatly improve the overall production quality of the film.

Generally speaking, rental costs alone range from $300-$1000 each weekend we go out to film, depending on the requirements of that shoot.  The rentals of generators, additional lenses and cameras, lights are just a few of the things that need to be rented on an ongoing basis.

What you get:

$20+:  Special Thanks Credit in the film.   And a very gracious and heartfelt thanks from us! :)
$500+: An invitation to an advanced, pre-release, private screening of the film "Father of Nations" upon it's completion.

SUPPORT TRAVEL EXPENSES

Travel Expenses

Along with food, our travel expenses are another one of our bigger production costs.  For our current film, Father of Nations; travel is a consistent reality. Much of what we're shooting requires travel to many different locations in western Canada.  Multiple days away from our homes is a reality that is part of this production.  We are always trying to find ways to cut the costs; carpooling, cheaper motels, camping when available, sometimes even staying with people gracious enough to open their homes to us.

It is this travel to the many beautiful locations we've selected for the film; that allows us to create a stunning epic film.  The locations half the battle in creating a world for the film that is believable.

We always provide lodging to the many volunteers who join us on our shoots as getting a good night sleep is necessary to maintain the strength of the crew.

Sometimes we even need to rent cargo vans or trucks to transport all the equipment to the location.

By helping us cover the costs of gas, lodging, vehicle rentals; YOU are playing a direct role in the quality output of our film.   Your assistance in this area also frees us to put more resources into other elements that directly show up on screen; equipment rentals, wardrobe, props etc...

Our crew size generally ranges from 7-15 people that require transportation and lodging each and every time we go out of town to film!

We assure you, all the crew are so very thankful for a place to sleep other than in their car.

What you get:

$20+:  Special Thanks Credit in the film.   And a very gracious and heartfelt thanks from us! :)
$500+: An invitation to an advanced, pre-release, private screening of the film "Father of Nations" upon it's completion.

BUrN Project Behind the scenes:

"Final Development Shoot"

"This was one of my fondest days of development. It was just a small intimate group, and it was just such a bittersweet day as it was the last day of shooting for our proof of concept video for the film. It was calm and tranquil and very low stress... development was special.

Now, we're gearing up to shoot the actual movie for real. No more concept, no more "tests"... but it is my wish that the tone set during production, no matter what size the shoot may be or how many people; this is the tone I want. Peace, safety and a strong bond between all involved."
